Privacy Cleared
Privacy & data protection · fractional, on demand

Privacy that clears the path, instead of blocking it.

One flat fee puts a vetted privacy attorney, a senior data engineer, and legal operations on your team. So every deal, launch, and data request ends the same way: cleared.

What you get every month

Three seats. One number. Zero hourly invoices.

Privacy problems are half legal, half plumbing. So your subscription is staffed with both, plus the operations glue that keeps the queue moving.

15hrs / month

Privacy counsel, on demand

A vetted privacy attorney reviews contracts, redlines DPAs and BAAs, clears launches, and gives you a straight yes / no / with-conditions.

→ vetted attorney
20hrs / month

Data engineering

The part most firms can't do: actually finding, exporting, and deleting personal data across your systems, and mapping where it lives.

→ senior data engineer
20hrs / month

Legal operations

Runs the privacy inbox: triage, ticket hygiene, signature chasing, templates, and playbooks so the next deal moves faster than the last.

→ legal ops specialist
Why are we different

Most firms hand you a memo. We close the ticket.

A “delete my data” request isn't done when the advice exists. It's done when the data is actually gone, from every system that held it.

Traditional outside counsel

Advice, then it's your problem

01User requests deletion.
02Counsel writes a memo on your obligations.
03You still have to find and delete the data yourself.

The legal box is checked. The engineering, the actual risk, is handed back to your team.

Privacy Cleared

Advice and the hands to finish it

01User requests deletion.
02Counsel confirms scope, timeline, and identity checks.
03Our engineer erases & exports across your systems, with evidence.

The request closes in your rights tool: proven, auditable, done. Not a to-do left on your desk.

The work, in plain terms

The moments where privacy usually stalls you, and how we clear them.

Bring us any of these everyday situations. Here's exactly what we do on your behalf, and what “done” looks like when we hand it back.

UC-01

A customer won't sign until they see your DPA

from sales → We redline the data-processing agreement, answer their security questionnaire, and hand it back ready to sign, so your deal can close.

Deal cleared
UC-02

You want to roll out a tool that touches customer data

from procurement → We check the vendor's DPA, AI terms, and data flows before anything connects, then tell you plainly what's safe and what to fix first.

With conditions
UC-04

You're launching a new AI or health feature

from product → We run the privacy-by-design review, complete the impact assessment, and line up your notices, so you ship on time, not under a legal cloud.

Launch cleared
UC-07

Someone asks to see or delete their data

from support → We verify who they are, then actually export or erase their data across your systems, then close the request with proof it was done.

Request closed
UC-06

A new privacy law changes what you must disclose

from legal → We update your privacy policy, notices, and cookie banner so what you publish always matches what you actually do.

UC-10

A vendor gets breached. Are you exposed?

from security → We work out what data was involved, who has to be notified, and who owns the cost, while the clock is still running.

…and plenty more we handle the same way: data mapping, HIPAA/BAA agreements, cross-border transfers, marketing & SMS consent, ad-tech reviews, and reusable playbooks so the next one moves faster.

Great advice, billed by the six-minute increment. And it stops at the memo. The engineering work comes back to you.

A full-time privacy hire$180k–260k / yr + benefits

Months to recruit, and one person can't be attorney, engineer, and ops all at once. Fixed cost whether the queue is full or empty.

Privacy Cleared$8k / month, flat

A three-role team the day you start. Legal and the engineering hands to finish the job, for less than one hourly counsel's retainer.

Who's behind it

Run by a data engineer who lived in legal tech.

Madhweep Lakshmanan

Founder · Data engineering

I'm a data engineer with 15+ years building the systems that hold, move, and delete personal data, and the last 6+ years spent applying that work inside legal tech. I've led data engineering at Apple, Intuit, Dropbox, and Clio.

Before Clio, I was the founding data engineer at Lawyaw, a document-automation platform for lawyers that Clio acquired. At Clio, I helped build and scale Vincent AI, which grew revenue from $200M to $500M ARR in under nine months.

That combination, deep data engineering plus real time inside legal, is the whole idea behind Privacy Cleared. Most privacy programs don't break on the advice; they break on the plumbing underneath it. So we pair vetted counsel with the engineering and operations muscle to actually finish the work.
